Aaron Kernaghan LLB Hons BA (English) BA (Philosophy) GradDip (Legal Practice) is the Principal ofKernaghan & Associates and focusses uponRoyal Commission and other public inquiries (including coronial inquiries) and criminal trial, defended-hearing and appeal litigation. He is an experienced criminal law litigator with a background in complex criminal prosecution and defence work as well as appearing on behalf of sexual assault survivors at Royal Commissions. He regularly appears in each of the major criminal law court jurisdictions as well as related work including appearing in Coronial Inquiries, The Royal Commission on Institutional Responses to Child Abuse and various inquiries. He has worked as a lecturer for NSW Police Detectives training course, taught evidence law at the University of Wollongong Law School and provides ongoing training to pre and post-graduate law students. Aaron has unique experience in criminal law, from working at the Criminal Law Review Division of the Attorney General's Department to being Professional Assistant to the Director of Public Prosecutions. His background as prosecutor and defender provide clients with a powerful combination of skills and breadth of knowledge in the conduct of their cases.
