The Project includes the design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of 3 new bucket-wheel reclaimers including associated structural, mechanical, electrical and communications services. The Project also includes the design and construction of associated off-board scope including bulk earthworks, civil infrastructure, structural works and electrical upgrades to support the functionally safe operation of the new reclaimers.
Job Summary:Bechtel is seeking an experienced Workforce Services Officer (Employee Relations Representative) to join our team. The role will be a local Karratha / Dampier region position or Fly In / Fly Out (FIFO) role from Perth, Western Australia working 2:1 roster.
Bechtel Workforce Services Officer duties is comprised of several functions including, liaising with multiple Contractors on Employee and Industrial Relations, mobilisation and FIFO travel arrangements, transport and camp management, site access control (security) and professional craft training.
The successful applicant will have demonstrated capability in supporting the strategies and plans to enable successful workforce mobilisation and engagement during construction execution.
Major Responsibilities:Contribute to the development of strategies and plans related to Workforce Services matters, including the development of strategies for Workforce Services functions.Ensures the Projects Workforce Services activities conform to company and client site, accommodation and community policies/procedures are followed and disseminates information.Interprets and offers support and guidance to Contractors in the administration of their respective applicable Enterprise Agreements, Employment Contracts and Project work rules. Keeps abreast of legislation applicable to construction industry and impacts to Project delivery.Ensures the Projects Workforce Services activities conform to company and site policies/procedures are followed and disseminates information.Monitors work practices daily, observe and/or anticipated Labour problems. Recommends actions to resolve issues to avoid work stoppages and construction schedule delays.Works with Field Supervision, supporting Team alignment, Probation and Performance management.Other responsibilities as designated.Education and Experience Requirements:5-7 years of experience performing employee or industrial relations management, human resources, or similar functions in a construction company, EPC, or similar industry.Knowledge and experience in the operation of remote 'major project' personnel logistics operations, inclusive of Workforce recruitment and mobilisation processes, ground and air transportation, project accommodation facilities, workforce training and upskilling, site access and security and general Employee Relations and Industrial Relations management.Tertiary qualifications related to human resource management/industrial relations is highly regarded for this role.Training experience within an industrial environment is preferred.Required Knowledge and Skills:Proven ability to build collaborative relationships across all functions, deliver on Project objectives and implement key programs on time and within budget.Good analytical and strategic planning skills: able to prioritize, pivot and respond to conflicting priorities.Excellent oral and written communication skills.Proficient use of Microsoft Office software.Previous employment relationships, employee or industrial relations, construction trades, leadership skills.HSE legislative knowledge will also be highly regarded.Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
