Please note this position is based at Olympic Dam, operating on a 7/7 roster, with residential, DIDO or FIFO (from Adelaide) options available.
Currently we have vacancies for 1 x permanent role, and 1 x 12 month fixed-term role. About the roleWe are currently inviting applications for an Operations Technician – Mine Fixed Plant. In this position you will help minimize the impact to unplanned downtime and also work on planned day-to-day upkeep and maintenance of the materials handling system.
In this role you will: Promote and consistently follow the standards and procedures designed to enable you to work safely and effectively every dayProvide safe operational skills to perform unplanned or breakdown maintenance in accordance to current processesComplete inspections of materials handling systems and beltsAssist where required in the permit to work system, providing support to the PTW specialist with the intent fill this role intermittently to help balance the teams capacity and demandProvide continual feedback to the Shift Maintenance Supervisors on job progressAbout youProven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm's waySelf-motivated, driven and focused on achieving high performance targets whilst always prioritizing safety firstSound mechanical aptitude will be highly beneficialFL and Bobcat, riggers, dogging and crane ticket advantageous, but not essentialComfortable working in an underground mining environment and around heavy machineryAbility to communicate across multiple levels and disciplinesAbout Our ProcessAt BHP, we are committed to employing individuals who align with the BHP Charter Values and meet the requirements of the role.
