Under our Good Works umbrella we have many services and programs, including soup vans, education programs, home visitation programs and VincentCare Victoria (VCV), which assists some of Victoria's most vulnerable communities, such as people experiencing homelessness, the housing crisis and family violence, and the elderly.
About the Role: A newly created position, the Talent Acquisition Coordinator (Volunteer Attraction and Coordination) collaborates closely with the Talent Acquisition and Compliance team (background checking), the broader People and Culture team, and all departments across the organisation that rely on our volunteers to provide important support services to the most disadvantaged in our communities.
These will include our retail volunteers in Vinnies stores; Soup Vans; the No Interest Loan Scheme, Education; and our Call Centres who all rely on the generosity and dedication of our volunteers Recognizing the critical impact of our volunteers on service delivery, culture and success of the Society, this position will work closely with Managers across the organisation to develop initiatives to attract volunteers, ensuring that the volunteer experience in joining the organisation including adherence to compliance checks and other relevant requisites is a positive one, and ultimately that there is provision for the timely engagement of volunteers across the organization.
Key Responsibilities include: Partner with managers and employees across the organisation to address volunteering needs and support tailored sourcing strategies to attract, select and retain a diverse volunteer base.
Administer and support volunteer recruitment processes which may include drafting advertising and social media campaigns, identifying potential community partnerships that reach potential volunteers.
Ensuring compliance checks and relevant requisites are carried out and recorded.
Maintaining volunteer data and records on the central database Provide monthly reporting to managers on Volunteer recruitment activity including sourcing effectiveness and volunteer pipelines.
Being proactive in continuous improvement and providing suggestions for improving policies and procedures to enhance the volunteer experience throughout the organisation.
Respond to enquiries from prospective and current volunteers, members and staff in a timely manner.
Assisting in the management of the Work for the Dole program by liaising with different agencies who support volunteer recruitment.
About You: You are a highly organized and detail-oriented professional ideally with experience in dealing with volunteer recruitment strategies.
Importantly you will be able to manage high volumes of data with exceptional accuracy and utilise your strong technology proficiency, adeptness in database reporting, data management, and analysis.
Your excellent interpersonal skills, superior written and verbal communication, and ability to build relationships enable you to effectively communicate processes, especially over the phone.
You are proficient in MS Word and Excel and have the ability to learn new systems quickly.
More specifically we prefer that you have: Experience in end – end recruitment within an inhouse function or recruitment agency Exposure to Volunteer attraction methodologies and liaison with volunteer 'workforce' Ability to work with high volume applications and manage candidate databases accordingly Ability to effectively communicate processes and build relationships to a diverse audience – particularly over the phone Strong computer literacy (MS Word, Excel) coupled with sound written and communication skills Strong attention to detail and data accuracy High learning agility with an ability to pick up new systems and processes quickly Ethical and professional manner always Please click here to see the Position Description and get a better idea of the role.
