About the program AIR6500 is the RAAF's $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems.
AIR6500 will create a fully networked 'system of systems' that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
Your responsibilities will include: As the Systems Engineer MBSE, you will be responsible for the following: Resolve System and sub-system level requirements through decomposition and design, representing these in the Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment Develop key interface definitions, representing these in the MBE Environment Resolve design and solution Trade-Offs against System Requirements Develop key AIR6500 technical documents and artefacts such as solution descriptions, trade studies and definition of requirements About you: To be successful in the role you will have significant knowledge in one or more of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare (C4ISREW) domains, along with; Excellent understanding of Model Based Systems Development (MBSD) and Model Based Engineering (MBE) principles (DoDAF or SysML experience is a plus) deploying updates to within the modelling environment (MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or other) Extensive experience with development of systems design for large complex systems Advanced experience trading off designs and solutions with an understanding of the potential component level, subsystem level, and system level impacts Significant knowledge and experience undertaking Agile development Special Requirements: Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance and employment may be contingent on the provision of further personal information including citizenship to ensure compliance with international export control legislation and regulations.
