The Role Copper Refineries currently have a vacancy for a Production Supervisor in our Anode Casting area. Reporting to the Production Superintendent, you will be required to manage and lead the Anode Casting team in achieving health, safety, environment, and operational targets. The Anode Casting team is responsible for melting copper recycle from the Tankhouse and forming new copper anodes.
Your key responsibilities will be: Coordination and control of the activities undertaken within the Anode Casting area Planning and organising periodic shutdowns, including furnace rebrick activities Achievement of business objectives including health, safety, production, and financial Development of skills and capability to enable team members to achieve their full potential Mentoring of team members to ensure their proficiency in managing risk You will have the following: A minimum of 3 years' experience in supervision in a minerals processing or manufacturing environment A commitment to safety and continuous improvement and the ability to engage others in those commitments Strong organisational skills and the ability to adapt to changing priorities Sound verbal and written communication skills Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel Experience working with molten metal and natural gas would be advantageous This position is residentially based in Townsville and offers a unique roster pattern providing you with a 4-day long weekend. Your rostered hours will be 6am-6pm each Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday only, with an additional 12-hour shift required every third Friday (average 40-hour week).
