Senior Work Health and Safety Business PartnerThe Work Health and Safety Team at the Mackay Base Hospital is seeking applications for a Senior Work Health and Safety Business Partner to join their team on a permanent basis.
Your opportunity The role is to provide expert advice on all aspects of Work Health and Safety practice, legislative duties, and contemporary safety management systems to support the Mackay HHS in implementing effective systems of work with the specific aim of preventing injury and enhancing staff safety and wellness.The role contributes to the development of a resilient safety culture through a program of continuous improvement initiatives which will assist in driving higher levels of safety performance outcomes through partnership with the business by empowering leaders and employees to focus on their work health and safety obligations.A resilient safety culture will also be evidenced by safety improvement outcomes which consistently exceed minimum compliance levels. The key success factor for the Work Health and Safety Team is a sustained reduction in incident frequency and severity of injuries.The position provides high level advice and support in the application of work health and safety, workplace rehabilitation, workers compensation so as to assist MHHS achieve safe, healthy and supportive workplace and work practice for staff.About the Team The Work Health and Safety Unit provides work health and safety advisory, support, investigation, rehabilitation and return to work support, audits, and assessment services to Mackay HHS service groups, business units and facilities across Mackay HHS. The Work Health and Safety Unit is within People and Culture Division supporting safety and wellbeing initiatives.
Our focus is in reducing injuries in the workplace and working closely with our stakeholders to ensure safe and sustainable return to work for employees, in accordance with the Recovery in Workplace philosophy. In addition to managing worker related injuries, the Work Health and Safety Team facilitates the return to work for non-work-related injury/illnesses.
