Job Summary: As Senior Structural Designer, you will collaborate to plan, develop, coordinate, and review project civil/structural design work. You will produce drawings, facilitate discussions, communicate complex technical issues, and prepare civil/structural design estimates and work plan. Your recommendations will ensure designs and work plans are in accordance with project scope, schedule, budget, regulations, and standards.
Major Responsibilities: Plans, develops, coordinates and reviews design work within a small-size civil/structuraldesign work group on projects of medium size or assignments in support of globalbusiness unit. Produces drawings and documentation in accordance with established design and scopeincluding design of earthwork, drainage, road design, foundation, and steel detailing. Coordinates and interfaces as directed with the day-to-day technical work of civil/structuralengineers, scientists, specialists, designers and drafters. Communicates complex technical issues and recommends solutions to uppermanagement. Prepares or oversees the preparation of civil/structural design estimates and work plan inaccordance with project scope, schedule and budget, and manages implementation andperformance accordingly. Other responsibilities as designated. Education and Experience Requirements: Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills: extensive experience in design and drafting and demonstrated skill in a lead role or recognized courses in the directing of personnel. demonstrated, solid bulk materials handling experience essential. front end engineering and master planning experience preferred. skill in reading, interpreting and using related documents and drawings prepared by other project groups. proven experience in engineering design tools such as MicroStation V8i and Connect, Inventor, AutoCAD, Open Plant, SmartPlant and Navisworks Simulate. Working Rights in Australia without employer sponsorship are required.
