Join our Infrastructure Team as a Security Engineer, where you'll be the guardian of our network, systems, and applications, ensuring the highest levels of protection for our staff, clients, and customers.
In this pivotal role, you'll be responsible for designing cutting-edge security controls, proactively identifying risks, and leading the charge in protecting our infrastructure from the latest cyber threats.
From vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to spearheading incident responses, you'll have the freedom to innovate, collaborate, and make an impact at every level.
You'll also play a key role in mentoring junior team members and creating a culture of security awareness across the organization.
Key Responsibilities: Build & Protect: Design and implement robust security controls to safeguard our infrastructure, networks, and applications.Proactive Defence: Lead vulnerability assessments, penetration tests, and monitor for emerging security threats to stay one step ahead of attackers.Incident Response: Take the lead in investigating and resolving security incidents, ensuring rapid recovery and minimal disruption.Collaborate & Innovate: Work closely with cross-functional teams to integrate security seamlessly into all aspects of our technology stack.Mentor & Lead: Guide junior team members, provide security awareness training, and help drive a culture of security across the company.Strategize for the Future: Develop and execute a forward-thinking security roadmap that aligns with Canstar's business goals and risk appetite.What We're Looking For: 3+ years of experience in security engineering, with a strong foundation in OS security, firewalls, intrusion detection systems, vulnerability scanning, and SIEM tools.Expertise in securing cloud environments (AWS, GCP) and familiarity with security frameworks like NIST and ISO 27001.A proactive, problem-solving mindset with the ability to stay ahead of emerging security trends.A passion for cybersecurity and a commitment to continuous learning and improvement.Strong communication and collaboration skills to engage with teams at all levels of the organization.At Canstar Group, our inclusive vision is to create a workplace where our people feel safe and confident to bring their unique selves to work.
