About the role:
As the Senior Finance Officer you will:
Assume a leading role in the development and management of the school-based salaries and school purchase recoveries, corporate and internal budgets, and the development of complex labour related costings.
Assume a leading role in labour related data management and the provision of analysis and advice in relation to business and financial risk for school-based salaries.
Responsibilities include:
Undertake complex data conceptualisation and analysis utilising large datasets to deliver business solutions and costings relating to Enterprise Bargaining and other initiatives for all departmental labour groups.
Contribute to the breakdown of complex problems and operationalise concepts into simple workable solutions that are clear and well documented.
Develop, implement and maintain budget policies, procedures and practices that facilitate and contribute to improved workforce resource allocation and financial management within the department.
Provide analysis and advice on school-based salaries budgetary full-time equivalent (FTE) and financial performance and financial management, including the preparation of content for monthly governance and business reporting.
Develop and review costing methodologies and tools that accurately calculate future labour related costs for departmental and government budget forecasting.
Undertake complex research activities and prepare submissions, reports and briefing materials for senior officers and forums on budget management and process issues.
Liaise, communicate and consult with a range of stakeholders in relation to data analysis, costings and school-based salaries budget.
