Senior Finance Officer – CFMEU Construction and General Division QLD Branch
The CFMEU QLD/NT branch is currently seeking a mature and enthusiastic person looking for a full-time Senior Finance Officer role.
The successful applicant will be trained in a variety of finance/administrative tasks within a busy blue collar trade union office environment.
The CFMEU QLD/NT branch is a progressive union committed to advancing the wages, conditions and the wellbeing of our membership.

The CFMEU is the main union in the building and construction industry in Australia, representing over 100,000 workers and their families.
The CFMEU QLD/NT Branch covers workers in the construction industry working on and off sites including other industries and sectors.

Requirements
Tertiary qualifications in Commerce, Finance or Accounting Pursuing CA/CPA qualification or CA/CPA qualified will be highly regarded Experience dealing with financial reporting, financial systems and maintenance of the general ledger Ability to set standards, targets and objectives and coordinate work plans to ensure success Demonstrated experience using Microsoft products, and advanced skills in Excel Experience using SAGE 300 and Attache payroll system software will be highly regarded Demonstrate and uphold the values of Unionism About the role
Your responsibilities will be but not limited to the below:
Day to day accounting and administrative functions Reconciling of credit card transactions to receipts Processing daily membership income from AS400 membership system into accounting system (SAGE 300) Processing supplier invoices into the Accounting system Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable functions Supporting the payroll function (Attache) Preparation of monthly reconciliation and management accounts Preparation of budgets Managing Union assets including property and motor vehicles Meeting statutory obligations including PAYG, BAS, Payroll Tax, FBT Returns, etc Assistance with External audits Other Accounting and Administrative tasks as requested by the Chief Financial Officer The successful applicant will be offered a generous salary package with benefits including 5 weeks annual leave.
