Eden Ritchie is seeking a Senior Data Analyst to provide technical expertise and knowledge in data analytics and developing strategies for Department's future and current data reporting requirements. The role will work closely with the Transition Team and Department to implement key improvements as to how Department captures, collates, stores and reports on their data holdings.
5 month contract with possible extension Brisbane CBD location As the Senior Data Analyst, your key responsibilities will include: Support development of KPI's for the effective and efficient operations of Department operations and the parole system. Document data requirements, data dictionaries and counting rules. Implement general data management practices, processes, and tools. Assess the quality of data and remove or clean data, as required, to generate information and insights from respective data sets identifying trends and patterns. Identify and make recommendations regarding any missing data. Interrogate and establish data sets, and the development of high-level reporting documents and tools such as operational forecasts, performance reporting, workforce requirements, strategic dashboards (up to executive level), and similar. Lead the development of audience-relevant data visuals: dashboards, reports, graphics, and similar. Prepare reports, submissions, briefings and correspondence as required. High level interpersonal skills to build and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders and negotiate with and influence others on sensitive and complex issues. High level analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse, interpret and report data, with the ability to work with key stakeholders to coordinate collection of data from a number of sources. Maintain own level of knowledge of legislation, policies and procedures relevant to the correctional jurisdiction. The successful applicant will demonstrate: Demonstrated experience in the identification, definition and management of business relevant data. Demonstrated experience in performing detailed data analysis, including trend analysis, report preparation and provision of recommendations to leadership. Demonstrated experience and ability to analyse, interpret and solve difficult [data] problems, engaging team and management input to produce accurate and timely solutions. Evidenced application of sound research and analytical skills for investigating issues and analysing business data to support ongoing improvement in service delivery. Experience and understanding of program data analytics, forecasting, and modeling methodologies. Exceptional document and version control, ensuring current / contextual data is provided for reporting and decision-making purposes. Skills and experience in the preparation of reports and complex written documentation within a structured framework. Demonstrated organisational skills including the ability to work autonomously to establish priorities and meet deadlines. Proven high level negotiation and liaison skills to achieve corporate outcomes, complimented by the ability to effectively liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders who may have competing interests on sensitive and complex outcomes. Capability to work under pressure, meet tight deadlines and work in a team environment. Demonstrated experience in the interpretation and application of legislation, policy and procedures in an operational environment as this applies to data analytical activities. Knowledge of risk management frameworks. Formal qualifications or current studies in data science, ICT or project management would be highly regarded.
