As the Principal Analyst for Wholesale Energy Markets, you will be responsible for leading the analysis of complex energy markets to inform decision-making, identify trading opportunities, and manage risks. You will work with a team of experts in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, utilising cutting-edge technologies and models to gain insights and drive results. Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute market analysis and forecasting to inform trading strategies and decision-making Identify trading opportunities and manage risks to optimise trading outcomes Conduct in-depth analysis of energy markets and provide insights to support the development of corporate strategies Lead the development and implementation of models and tools to support market analysis and forecasting Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure trading strategies align with broader business objectives Develop and maintain relationships with industry experts and stakeholders to stay up-to-date on market trends and opportunities Communicate market insights and recommendations to senior leadership and other stakeholders Provide mentorship and guidance to junior analysts
Requirements:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant field, such as economics, finance, engineering, or mathematics 7+ years of experience in wholesale energy market analysis, with a focus on forecasting and risk management Strong analytical skills and experience working with large datasets and modeling tools Excellent communication skills and the ability to present complex data in a clear and concise manner Strong leadership skills and experience managing a team Experience working with energy market regulations and policies is preferred Passion for innovation, sustainability, and customer satisfaction
