Working within the Digital Strategy Division and reporting to the Director, Interoperability, theSenior Data Analyst will provide credentialed data expertise and technical analysis to innovate, build, and maintain well-managed data solutions and capabilities to solve business problems. They will also take ownership of the Agency's data analytics and their work will empower the project teams and guide business decisions.
The Senior Data Analyst will provide support in the creation of detailed analytical models by providing expert opinion related to the integration and processing of data relevant to the Agency supporting the data-driven decision-making process across the organisation.
In addition, key experience, knowledge and skills include:
·At least 5 years' experience working as a Data Analyst in a fast-paced and dynamic business setting
·Industry experience in data analysis using R, Python, SAS including SQL/PL SQL and other database management tools is ESSENTIAL
·Proficient in using cloud-based tools, MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint to create visually and verbally engaging reports for various stakeholders both internal and external
·Proficient in working with Big Data tools such as Hadoop, Pig, Hive, Apache Spark, MapReduce, NoSQL and other similar tools
·Experience processing unstructured data in XML/JSON
·Experience working in report creation, modelling and trend forecasting with strong analytical and conceptual thinking skills with the ability to problem solve and to provide business content to data results
·A deep interest in research and data analysis, drawing actionable insights from raw data and information to help further the business's cause, shape strategy and improve customer experience
·Strong statistical and econometric modelling skills, performing quantitative analysis and technological data mining and analysis techniques to tell a compelling story
·Experience in extracting and manipulating data from large repositories
·Excellent interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to employ a variety of tailored communication skills both written and verbal
·Draw reports that are clear, convincing, informative, engaging, unambiguous and uniquely tailored to suit different audiences including executives, management and other key stakeholders
