Business Services & Corporate Advisory (Accounting)
Core Talent is partnering with a well-established mid-tier accounting firm in Brisbane, experiencing significant growth and seeking an experienced Senior Accountant.
The ideal candidate will have solid experience in Public Practice and Business Services accounting, along with a CPA or CA qualification (or be working towards it). You will manage your own portfolio of accounts, requiring a strong understanding of taxation, particularly Div 7A, as well as experience with corporate, partnership, trust, and high-net-worth individual taxation.
Key responsibilities include:
Preparing financial statements in compliance with Australian Accounting Standards
Conducting month-end and year-end closing procedures
Preparing and lodging tax returns for various entities
Advising clients on tax planning strategies and compliance
Building and maintaining strong client relationships
Conducting client meetings to discuss financial performance and strategy
Assisting with audit processes and preparing supporting documentation
Conducting internal audits and financial reviews
Providing business advisory services, including cash flow forecasting and budgeting
Identifying opportunities for process improvements
Supervising and mentoring junior staff
Ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements (ASIC, ATO, etc.)
Staying updated on changes in accounting standards and tax legislation
Utilizing accounting software (e.g. MYOB AE, MYOB Account Right, Xero) for record-keeping and reporting
Training clients and staff on software usage
Managing workload effectively to meet deadlines
Maintaining accurate client files for compliance
