This role includes controlling access to the site, conducting regular patrols, monitoring security equipment, and responding to security incidents. The security officer will play a key role in enforcing site policies and procedures, safeguarding assets, and contributing to the overall security of the operation. This position is suited to individuals who value the health and safety of their working family, visitors, and the community.WHAT YOU WILL BE DOINGControl site security gatehouse, monitor radios, handle emergency calls, issue/receive PPE kitsEnsure safe traffic flow to/from site through gatehouse, including access/egress monitoringPerform fitness for work activities using handheld breathalysers, document findingsControl room monitoring of security management systems including but not limited to Access control, CCTV Surveillance, and intruder detection.Conduct regular foot and vehicle patrols of the sites, including high-security areas.Monitor and inspect site boundaries, buildings, and equipment for any signs of unauthorised access, damage, or suspicious activity.Provide communications across all operational security activities.Report any faults and notify seniors of incidents during and after hours.WHAT YOU WILL NEEDMinimum Certificate II in Security OperationsNational Police clearancePrevious experience in the mining and resource sectorPrevious experience working as crowd control or security officer/guard.Previous Security Gatehouse experience (highly desirable).Western Australian Manual "C" Driver's LicenseCollect Pathology Specimens Other Than Blood (Approved Drug Screening Officer) or equivalentSound computer literacy skills.Excellent interpersonal skills (both verbal and written)Ability to use initiative and good judgement.BENEFITSReceive $12k residential allowance per annum.Receive up to 15% short-term incentive payment (STIP) of your base salary.Fully covered family private health insurance through GU Health Complete Gold Cover or an allowance of $4.8k.Receive $2.4k allowance to put towards your choice of Death and Total & Permanent Disability (TPD) insurance.Pro-rata long service leave (LSL) after just 5 years of service and be entitled to 13 weeks paid LSL after 10 years of service.Opportunities for learning and development through various training programs provided by the company.Work in a team with a growth mindset, ensuring you can bring out your best.Norton is recognised as an Employer of Choice for Gender Equality by the Australian Government's Workplace Gender Equality Agency.
