About the Role As an S&S Banking Consultant, you are to assess the financial needs of customers and provide options to meet those needs in pursuit of specific sales, service and connected customer targets including addressing customers' transactional banking needs.
Role Location: Chermside Branch, Shop 216/217 Westfield Shopping Centre, Cnr Gympie & Hamilton Rds, Chermside QLD 4032 Role Type: Permanent, 30 hours Part Time (Flexible) What will your day look like? As a S&S Banking Consultant, you will: Achieve sales, service and compliance targets.
Generate opportunities for sales specialists for Stores, using the agreed sales process.
Provide recommendations to the Store Manager or Store Leader for initiatives to improve sales performance of the store.
Assess customer needs through open and targeted communication with customers and recommend appropriate options using the agreed sales process.
Provide accurate and timely service by processing over-the-counter transactions (deposits, withdrawals and transfers) in an efficient and accurate manner.
Actively promote and support customers in the use of alternative electronic distribution methods for conducting day to day banking (e.g.
ATM, Phone Banking, Internet).
Proactively identify and escalate risks and issues related to your role responsibilities and capture them as a service request in Ignite.
Adhere to Suncorp's complaint resolution process to resolve matters, maintain high service standards and mitigate further risks/losses.
Ensure a safe environment that allows all staff across Suncorp the ability to escalate and discuss issues and risks with their Leader or LOR.
Accountable for maintaining high data quality standards by ensuring information captured in Suncorp's systems and documentation are correct and maintained in a timely manner.
What will you bring? To grow and be successful in this role, you will ideally bring the following: Must have the ability to work across the hours of 8:30 to 4:30 Monday to Thursday and 9:00 to 5:15 on Fridays.
30 hours will be across 5 days.
First 3 months will require some weeks where additional hours and/or full-time hours are required for training.
Tertiary Qualifications in business, commercial or finance are desirable.
Demonstrated experience in a retail customer sales & service environment.
Analytical skills – ability to develop solutions and recommend actions based on key issues.
Attention to detail – accurately checking and processing tasks.
Communication Skills – ability to convey and explain information clearly.
Decisiveness – ability to make effective decisions in a timely manner.
Negotiation skills – exploring opportunities for mutual benefit.

Social skills – using appropriate behavioral styles to influence others.
