ADD VALUE - THE ROLE Providing high level customer service with specialist knowledge in the rating and water billing functions, the Revenue Officer is responsible for supporting the Coordinator Revenue in the management of the Revenue function.  Key responsibilities include; Assist in the efficient operation of the Revenue function of Council by providing high level customer service to ratepayers on rates and charges issues Develop a high-level knowledge of all aspects of Council's rating system, to ensure that rates and charges are issued accurately and in a timely manner in accordance with relevant legislation and Council policies Manage the Accounts Receivable function by ensuring invoices are issued accurately and in a timely manner Manage Council's debt recovery function for rates, charges and accounts receivables Assist with the quarterly rating instalment processes Responsible for the triannual water billing process, the creation of 603 certificates and sale of land transfer processing along with coordination of water meter reading contractors as part of the water billing process Essential to this role is a Certificate 4 in Accounting or related field and/or considerable experience in a finance-based office role, complemented by demonstrated basic understanding of related Local Government legislation, and high-level Microsoft Office Suite skills. You will need to possess high level customer service skills including dealing with conflict, and a commitment to providing excellent customer service to both internal and external customers of Council. This position is offered on a permanent, full-time basis working 35 hours per week. Remuneration package for this position is based on Grade 8 of Council's Salary System Protocol which equates to a base salary of $65,829 - $74,050 per annum plus superannuation.
