Located in northwest Queensland, Cannington boasts an underground mine and processing facility situated approximately 800 kilometres west of Townsville and a concentrate handling facility at the Port of Townsville. Cannington mine provides on-site accommodation including meal services, as well as sporting and gym facilities.WHAT SOUTH32 OFFERS26 weeks full-paid, or 52 weeks half-paid parental leave for primary carersThe opportunity to become a shareholder of South32 through our share plansOptions for additional superannuation contributionsAnnual short-term incentive bonus that recognises both your individual performance and the overall success of the businessABOUT THE ROLEThis role is a Permanent Full-Time position on a 4:3 roster, FIFO from Brisbane or Townsville, or DIDO from Mount the Project Lead, you will be responsible for leading and managing capital and/or operational expenditure projects through project life cycle, from concept to handover and close-out at Cannington.Other key responsibilities include, but aren't limited to:Display strong visible safety leadership and behaviours in alignment with S32 valuesPro-actively engage and collaborate with stakeholders, suppliers, specialists, and project teams to deliver projects to approved timeframes and budgetsPrepare project submissions to request funds within planned milestones and agreed deliverables for project approvalsEnsure compliance with project reporting and governance requirementsABOUT YOUYou will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following:Experience in a similar role within the Mining and Resources industryProven ability leading and managing simultaneous capital expenditure projects through project life cycle, from concept to handover and close-outProficient in developing and managing schedules and budgetsQualifications for this position are:Tertiary or Trade qualification in relevant engineering disciplineSouth32 is committed to building and maintaining an inclusive and diverse workforce that reflects the communities in which we operate.
