About the Opportunity Reporting to the Head of Technical Services, the Software Engineering Manager is responsible for engineering design and maintenance projects that support any software integrated as part of the Collins Class Submarine (CCSM) platform and related support system elements.
The Software Engineering Manager is a diverse role that requires engineering, project and people management.
This is a full-time opportunity based at our Osborne site in SA.
Responsibilities Directly manage the software engineering team working on the specified software support services ensuring that deliverables are met.
Support the LOTE program by acting as Control and Monitoring Technical Authority that supports the integration of sustainment and Life Of Type Extension (LOTE) activities.
Ensuring that the engineering activities are carried out in accordance with ASC's engineering and corporate policies and processes.
Act as the customer and subcontractor representative for assigned systems.
Act as the Technical Discipline Lead (TDL) for the software engineering capability across ASC to enable development, training and allocation of personnel allocated to all programs.
About you Tertiary qualifications in Software Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Systems Engineering, Computer Science or equivalent.
Demonstrated experience (10+ years) with the design lifecycle and maintenance of a complex software system (e.g.
submarine) in a senior engineering role.
Demonstrated experience (minimum of 5 years) in Engineering Project Management on medium to large, multi-dimensional projects.
Experience in a wide range of software systems including military/industrial control/automation and monitoring systems, and information systems.
High level of knowledge of security and cyber security policies including DSPF and ISM.
Experience in building and leading teams, including supporting the growth of technical team members through evaluating performance and developing growth plans.
Experience with subcontractor engagement including development of work scope, and monitoring and reporting against performance.
Experience with working through integration issues with stakeholders to find acceptable solutions.
Demonstrated high-level proficiency in project management disciplines such as scope, schedule, cost, risk and opportunity management.
High level of knowledge on product lifecycle, configuration management, product safety, seaworthiness and engineering governance and assurance.
Understanding of financial and Earned Value Management techniques.
Ability to recognise and set appropriate priorities and work standards.
Experience in customer relations and stakeholder management.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Eligibility This role requires a current National Police Clearance and an Australian Defence Security Clearance to a NV1 level.
Your eligibility for this role is dependent on you obtaining and maintaining such clearance.
