Payroll Coordinator

Payroll Coordinator Permanent Full Time Warrnambool City Council is looking for a Payroll Coordinator to join our team, but first, let us introduce ourselves. Warrnambool a vibrant and dynamic municipality that is home to 35,500 people, is the regional centre of South West Victoria. Nestled by the beautiful Southern Ocean the city offers the successful candidate an outstanding lifestyle, services and facilities. The city is about 250km west of Melbourne. You can take the Princes Highway or if you prefer the scenic route, Warrnambool is at the end of the world-renowned Great Ocean Road, home of the Twelve Apostles. During winter and spring, endangered Southern Right Whales often swim within a hundred metres of Warrnambool's shoreline and can be viewed from a specially constructed platform. As well as the stunning natural environment, the city is also home to excellent health services, restaurants and sporting facilities. Education needs for all ages are covered. There are kindergartens in all suburbs, 11 primary schools and four secondary schools along with a TAFE campus and a campus of Deakin University. The five minute commute is nice too. Council has a diverse workforce of over 700 staff (approx. 400 FTE) and the successful candidate for this position will be responsible for the timely and accurate processing of payroll. It presents an opportunity to influence the strategic and operational direction of the Payroll function within Council whilst working in a supportive environment. To be successful, you will need a strong background in overseeing the payroll function of mid to large level organisations and well developed management skills.
