Officer - Participation (Whitsunday Coast) At Football Queensland we are entering an exciting time for the game of football. We are leveraging the massive success that was the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup hosted by Australia and New Zealand, while the game in Queensland is embarking on an important journey to reach 50/50 gender parity by 2027. Football Queensland as the governing body for Football in Queensland, exists to develop and grow the game at all levels by leading and supporting our clubs, volunteers, coaches, referees, and stakeholders to provide exciting and enjoyable experiences for all Queenslanders - anytime, anywhere. Football Queensland also deliver player development pathways and manage the premier football competitions across the state.
As the peak body for football in Queensland, we focus on: Uniting football in Queensland Making playing and administering football easier, creating efficiencies Providing quality and consistent products and services that deliver value for money Improving and streamlining governance and management of the game Engaging with all our members, stakeholders, partners and government Primary Purpose of Role The Officer - Participation and Game Development role will assist with the effective and efficient delivery of football competitions and products through the development of strong relationships with FQ affiliated football clubs across the Whitsunday Coast Region and with relevant stakeholders of the game.
Under the guidance of the Regional Manager - Whitsunday Coast, this role will work to create an environment that maximises the enjoyment of competition and program participants through a professional customer service and delivery of timely and accurate administrative and operational functions.
Roles and Responsibilities Work under the direction of the Manager to operationalise and deliver on the strategic outcomes for both Football Queensland and the Region Support initiatives in conjunction with Football Queensland to grow participation in the Region Coordination of the delivery of FQ programs throughout the Region, including that sanctioned representative programs in the Region are conducted successfully Assist with special events as directed Action requests for information from Football Queensland and Region Committee by liaising with relevant Region staff and representatives, Clubs, Local Government and other key stakeholders Distribute relevant information and conduct training to Club and Committee Members within the Region Maintain knowledge of the registration and competition platform to enable assistance to clubs Attend Region meetings and conduct general administrative duties Liaise with clubs and develop strong relationships with Football Queensland stakeholders including FQ Region staff and Football Clubs across Queensland Deliver Football in the Community Programs Before and After Schools Lead Football in School Programs Multicultural Settlement Program (MSP) and Multicultural Youth Program (MYP) Match Day Management at Mackay Football Park - Every Saturday for Juniors Run Football in the Community Programs at Mackay Football Park Initiate all-ability Football Programs Deliver Summer 6's at Mackay Football Park Match day management of Futsal competition Lead the casual workforce in Whitsunday Coast Region Key Performance Indicators A performance and development agreement will outline your expected performance standards and business goals as well as skills improvement. The agreement will ensure that the objectives for this role are regularly set and their achievement measured to assist you to effectively manage your activities, determine how successful you have been in delivering the particular benefits sought and gauge any further development or training you need to do to develop your career.

Reaching agreed targets in school-based programs Launching agreed social / participation programs at Mackay Football Park (Summer 6's, Community) Identification and implementation of new participation opportunities FQ development programs meet participation and financial targets in the Whitsunday Coast Region Engagement with diverse community groups (e.g., indigenous, all-ability) Successful delivery of competitions (e.g. leagues, tournaments, carnivals) Essential Knowledge, Skills and Behaviour Required Attained or willingness to attain AFC C license or Football Australia recognised equivalent. Ability to work individually and as part of a team FA community coach educator tutor experience (advanced instructor qualification is an advantage) or Teaching experience. Work experience in a regional environment. Football knowledge and playing/coaching experience. Demonstrated organizational and administrative skills with the ability to plan, coordinate and execute tasks and projects through to completion whilst meeting deadlines, and balancing competing demands. Ability to work with limited direction to initiate procedures Adaptability, enthusiasm, and motivation with a "can do" attitude Can think strategically and encourage stakeholder collaboration High-level communication skills, particularly presentation skills and the ability to teach and inspire others Dedicated and mature approach to providing exceptional customer service Able to initiate new relationships, build rapport quickly and have the knowledge of dealing with professional administrators and importantly, volunteers Demonstrated skills in Microsoft Suite and computer systems Sports Management / Physical Education or other sport-related tertiary/university degree Experience in working with volunteers The employee will require A valid Blue Card (Working with Children check) Current and valid driver's license The right to work full time within Australia. #J-18808-Ljbffr
