Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant

The Mortgage Loan Originator Assistant is responsible for providing a wide range of duties related to the day-to-day sales functions of the Mortgage Loan Originator (MLO).
The Assistant acts as the main facilitator for communications between the MLO and sourcing agents, customers, vendors, and mortgage operations support.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Walk customers through the application process and follow up on any outstanding items.Assist MLO with customer pre-qualifications as needed.Communicate with customers and prospects regarding rate inquiries, appointments, loan status, title, commitment follow-up, and other information deemed necessary.Perform thorough pre-processing of conventional, government, and portfolio residential mortgage files: Assure all components to the file are ordered, copied, and included in the loan package prior to processing.Follow up on home buyer inquiries and application progress.Utilize the Bank's mortgage technology systems regularly, including Encompass and Direct Underwriting for data input to record and track loan progress.
Maintain strong working knowledge of Secondary Market automated underwriting systems.Schedule and confirm appointments and review with customers all documents needed at the time of application to ensure efficiency.Communicate to Realtors the status of applications.Keep sellers/buyers' attorneys informed of loan status.Make joint sales calls as needed.Process a reduced caseload (20 maximum).Serve as a liaison between MLO and the Mortgage Operations team.Follow up with past customers to maintain positive relationships with the Bank.Provide marketing support to MLO including preparation of marketing materials.Keep up to date on Bank Policies, Laws, and Regulations that govern residential mortgage.Confirm and/or cross-sell additional banking products.Demonstrate the behaviors outlined by the GRB Experience.Assist in other areas as needed.EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma required; Associate's degree preferred.Minimum 3 years residential mortgage sales and/or processing experience required.Must have or be able to obtain a National Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) number and remain active with the S.A.F.E Act registration throughout the duration of employment (with GRB assistance).COMPETENCIES: Provide a remarkable client experience.
