We are looking for a passionate Leader of Learning (LoL) - Business & Digital Technology who can lead and take accountability for the efficient and effective management of the Business and Digital Tech department.
Working with the Director of Curriculum, this role will develop the P-12 Digital Technology curriculum and interrogate high stakes data, using findings to design and implement learning experiences that maximise student engagement and learning.
This is a full-time (term time), permanent teaching position, commencing no later than the start of Term 1 of 2025. This role will have an Accounting and Business teaching load. This position will: Develop, lead and model the way for all department staff in order to ensure all educational and organisational objectives of the College are met.Develop and promote a unified team culture within the Department through inclusive communication and regular team meetings.Achieve strategic outcomes in accordance with the College's Strategic Plan and in collaboration with the Knowledge and Learning Resources Manager and the Director of Curriculum, be responsible for the ongoing development of the College's e-learning and digital literacies.Coordinate, exercise responsibility for and manage all related department processes designed to improve the educational outcomes of the students.Contribute to the development and implementation of whole College policies, curriculum and, where relevant, pastoral programs and procedures.Ensure that all processes within the Department to do with external agencies, including QCAA endorsement and confirmation.Effectively manage all administrative procedures and deadlines associated with the delivery of curriculum, including overseeing all aspects of academic reporting within the Department and ensuring unit plans are written and available.Undertake classroom teaching and associated activities as directed.In consultation with the Director of Curriculum, interrogate high stakes data and use findings to design and implement learning experiences that maximise student and cohort performance outcomes.Attend committees/meetings as required e.g., Curriculum Meetings, Departmental Meetings.Liaise regularly with the Director of Curriculum and RTO Manager to ensure full compliance with VET courses and RTO regulations.Liaise with external RTOs, universities and other service providers on matters related to business courses accessed by WestMAC students.Actively contribute to the Outdoor Education Program through annual attendance at camps as advised.The successful candidate will possess: Must be registered or eligible for registration in Queensland as a teacher.Appropriate tertiary degree(s) and teaching qualifications (Cert II in Business, Cert III in Information, Digital Media and Tech, Cert IV in Training & Assessment all highly desirable).Extensive classroom teaching experience in Middle and Senior School Levels, including the implementation of effective teaching and learning strategies.Knowledge of the Australian Curriculum in Business, including the General Capabilities and cross-Curriculum Priorities.Knowledge and understanding of the Queensland school-based system, including endorsement and confirmation procedures.Understanding of Queensland and ACARA P-10 Syllabus documents, QCAA syllabus requirements for Years 11 and 12, AQTF requirements for VET subjects and QCAA requirements in terms of QCE and QCI.Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and manage a team and build and maintain positive relationships with others.Strong communication skills with the ability to adjust delivery across a wide range of audiences.Solid planning and organisational skills, and the ability to prioritise, coordinate resources and meet deadlines.Demonstrated ability to utilise technology in pedagogical practice.Recognition and understanding of student protection requirements.Availability and ability to attend and engage in Outdoor Activities e.g. camps.West Moreton Anglican College is committed to providing an environment where children and young people receive the highest standard of care, where their rights are supported, and they have the opportunity to thrive and be fruitful.
