About Inland Rail

Inland Rail is a once-in-a-generation project that will complete the backbone of Australia's freight rail network. It will enhance supply chains by providing a transit time of 24 hours or less for freight trains between Melbourne and Brisbane. Inland Rail will connect regional Victoria, New South Wales, and Queensland to markets more efficiently, drive substantial cost savings for producers and consumers, and deliver significant economic benefits. Inland Rail is the largest freight rail infrastructure project in Australia and one of the most significant infrastructure projects in the world.
About the opportunity

We're looking for an ICT Project Manager to lead software and network infrastructure projects for Inland Rail. In this role, you'll implement projects within the ICT Project Delivery Framework and ensure clear communication with ICT services staff about project-related changes. Join us to help drive impactful technology solutions across the Inland Rail program.
Key responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Assist to define, and then lead the planning, implementation, and handover of approved solutions and network infrastructure projects for Inland Rail business areas from post concept through to closure.Lead and manage cross-functional project teams and manage stakeholder engagement to successfully deliver within agreed business outcomes.Create plans for work packages including scope, schedule, resources, technology deliverables, costs and implementation of systems and infrastructure into the business in-line with the ICT strategy and delivery methodology.Develop effective working relationships with ICT teams, ARTC, the business & suppliers to gain commitment, support and resource to deliver technical streams of work.Manage and report on project issues and risks to the relevant stakeholders and employ mitigation strategies to minimise risks.Prepare and deliver project management deliverables, such as meeting minutes and reports to the appropriate project steering committees.Matrix management of resources in various geographic locations across technical work-streams to ensure that solutions are delivered in accordance with agreed KPIs.Instil Inland Rail's corporate values within the workspace environment.About You

To be successful in this role you will need to be organised, detail-oriented, and an excellent communicator, skilled at coordinating between technical teams and stakeholders. You will need to be adaptable and resilient as the project landscape is forever changing. Must be a strategic thinker with a passion for technology.

To ensure success in this position, applicants will be able to demonstrate: Experience in a similar role, managing projects following a methodology and managing other initiatives as projects.Ability to lead a team of business and technical consultants, to work with senior ICT stakeholders and to manage multiple concurrent projects.Experience managing the implementation of software solutions and network infrastructure projects are preferable. Any SDWAN and Networking Infrastructure experience would also be favourable.Knowledge of key program and project/change methodologies, including either PRINCE2 or PMBOK methodologies including Agile concepts, with a working knowledge of the project development lifecycle in ICT environments.Experience and/or qualifications working within an ITIL framework environment could be an advantage.Capability in developing capabilities of ICT to meet business needs, including ICT systems requirements specification.Manage stakeholder relationships within complex projects with the ability to manage and resolve conflict, meeting challenging deadlines and delivering under pressure.Significant experience of managing budgets and understanding project-related financial terms and treatments.Knowledge of risk identification, documentation, mitigation, and management.Experience in procurement and/or contract management experience with various suppliers.Organisational and time management skills including conflict management.Problem-solving, analytical, evaluative skills and attention to detail.Worked within an engineering/construction environment is an advantage.Must be willing to travel occasionally, especially if involved in network infrastructure related projects.What you'll be joining You will join one of the largest infrastructure programs in Australia.This project will generate thousands of jobs and billions of dollars in local investment, boosting regional economies and communities right along the alignment.Inland Rail is proud to have over 40% female representation and we would like to see these numbers grow.Inland Rail is an Agile working environment in our State-of-the-Art office embracing flexible working conditions.Inland Rail adopted a collaborative approach to the delivery of the project, leading all parties involved to work toward the same goal.
