Position Location: Valley and Forde Campuses
Line Management: This position is responsible in the first instance to the Compliance & Asset Manager, the Chief Operating Officer and ultimately the Principal.
Burgmann Anglican School is an Early Childhood to Year 12 School with campuses located at Gungahlin and Forde.

The school prides itself on its innovative and creative approach to curriculum and education and its strong sense of community and pastoral care of the students and their families and the staff of the school. The school has a strong link with the Gungahlin Anglican Church which shares facilities and resources with the school.
TERMS This position will be paid at the Grounds and Horticultural Employee Level 6 plus a 9% additional loading. In addition, this position attracts a work vehicle, laptop, iPad and mobile phone.
This position requires participation in a paid roster system to ensure presence on campus over weekends to assist with sport and whole school events. Additionally, this role, alongside the Facilities Supervisor, Cleaning Supervisor, and Compliance and Asset Manager, will be responsible for after-hours 'on-call' duties for at least one week each month.
Duties and Responsibilities The Grounds Supervisor is responsible for the oversight and completion of grounds and related tasks specifically:
Supervising and delegating tasks to grounds staff and working collaboratively with Facilities and Cleaning SupervisorsEffectively maintaining sporting grounds, garden beds, lawns and all outdoor areasProviding advice and undertaking horticultural work and landscaping projects as directed by Chief Operating OfficerWorking in collaboration with events and co-curricular teams to ensure appropriate marking and preparation for school events is completed in a timely mannerResponding to helpdesk ticketsReporting and/or correcting any safety issuesOperating equipment and machinery as requiredTraining and supporting team members including mentoring for apprenticesConducting staff appraisals for grounds teamOther duties as requiredSelection Criteria Strong focus on safetyAbility to meet the physical requirements of this positionCurrent Working with Vulnerable People cardRequired Certifications Diploma in Horticulture or Turf managementSnake HandlingChemical Handling AccreditationsQualifications or training in WHSSalary, Terms and Conditions The successful applicant will be employed under the Independent School ACT (Support and Operational Staff) Multi Enterprise Agreement 2021.
