Family Group Conference (FGC) Navigator TermNovember 14, 2024Posting Number: 24-10-17 (Please include this number when applying)Position: Family Group Conference (FGC) NavigatorClassification: Full Time Term Until March 31, 2025, Monday – Friday 8:30 am - 4:30 pmLocation: 445 King StreetStarting Salary: Subject to Qualifications/ExperienceBackground: The incumbent will be responsible for assisting families to navigate resource systems alongside FGC families.
Proactively ensuring Families and their FGC mentors are aware of the programs and supports available to families within the Community.
The incumbent would connect with FGC families in a nonjudgmental way to assist them in breaking down the barriers that exist preventing their FGC plan from moving forward.
Specifically, the FGC Navigator will assist with identifying possible housing options, food banks, external programming, treatment options, etc.Qualifications:Demonstrated experience in developing and maintaining an effective working relationship with Indigenous and non-Indigenous, non-mandated organizations.Knowledge of the Manitoba Child and Family Services Act.Strong understanding of community capacity building models of practice.Strong motivational and leadership skills.Effective verbal and written communication skills with staff, other agencies, and the public.Community service oriented to effectively meet needs in a timely conscientious manner.A team player/facilitator to encourage an environment that fosters effective results in teams.Respectful to engage people and build helping relationships.Flexible to respond effectively and positively in diverse relationships.Confident and positive to engage families in the helping relationship process or to support, motivate and encourage others to make positive choices.Maintain a high level of independence and self-initiative.Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite.Must have a valid Class 5 license and reliable vehicle.Subject to a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry and Prior Contact checks.All letters of interest and resumes must be received no later than 4:00 p.m., November 21, 2024.Attention: Gillian Anderson, Human Resources AssistantMa Mawi Wi Chi Itata Centre, Inc350-200 Alpine WayHeadingly, Manitoba R4H 0B7Fax: #204-946-5042 or email to thank all applicants for their interest; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted.
