About the RoleThis is an exceptional opportunity for a Geotechnical Engineer who can play an active role as part of the Planning and Technical team at Olympic Dam Mine.
This role can be offered as residential or FIFO on an 8 days on, 6 days off roster (other rosters may be considered) You will report to the Superintendent of Geotechnical Operations and you will offer geotechnical engineering recommendations, ultimately enabling safe execution of mine plans.
The critical tasks for the role include:
Day-to-day underground inspections and ground support recommendationsPreliminary stope stability assessments and stope performance reviewsQA/QC applications on ground-support installationsGeotechnical hazard management through critical control verifications and monthly auditsAbout YouTertiary qualification in Engineering and/or Geoscience, or a related disciplinePrevious Mining ExperiencePrevious exposure to rock mass characterisation through empirical analysis, numerical modelling, geotechnical instrumentation and monitoring methods (preferably but not essential)Excellent organisational and problem-solving skillsThe ability to work well as a part of a team, and deliver resultsHow to ApplyPlease apply before 30 October 2024
