About the JobAbout the roleAre you highly organised with a strong background in design management? We are seeking a Design Manager to provide expert advice and guidance for the PTA Project Delivery (PPD) projects. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating design for major infrastructure projects, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. You will work closely with designers, clients, and other stakeholders to ensure that all design requirements are met and that the final design can be safely constructed to meet all necessary compliance requirements under the PTA's Engineering Management for Projects Procedure.Your role will involve overseeing the entire design process, from initial concept development to final delivery, and you will be expected to provide guidance and support to the design team throughout the project lifecycle. You will also be responsible for managing project timelines, budgets, and resources, as well as ensuring that all design work adheres to PTA standards, specifications and industry best practices. The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, a keen eye for detail, and a strong understanding of design principles and processes. You should be able to work effectively under pressure, manage multiple projects simultaneously, and adapt to changing priorities and deadlines. If you are passionate about design and have a proven track record of successfully coordinating design projects, then this role is for you.About You!To excel in this role, you should possess:Possession of a relevant qualification and willingness to work towards chartered status with the Institution of Engineers Australia or an equivalent professional organization.Experience in technical multi-disciplinary project work, including planning, design, and construction of railway infrastructure, with project and contract management expertise.Experience managing and leading teams, including staff, consultants, and contractors, to ensure project outcomes are achieved.Highly developed interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to build relationships, negotiate persuasively, and develop strategic, innovative solutions to complex issues.About UsThe Public Transport Authority's (PTA) vision is to be recognised as a leader in providing world-class public transport services and solutions.
