About us: We are a mid-tier civil and earthworks company that has been servicing the South Australian building and construction industry for the past 30 years. We currently specialize in civil work projects that include road works, car parks, sub-divisions, underground services installations and bulk earthworks. Our clients include all of the main builders, land developers and Government entities in and around Adelaide.
About the role We are looking for a full time Civil Estimator with the skills and experience to work with our team to provide accurate project estimates in accordance with technical standards.
We are certified to international standards for quality, safety and the environment. We strive for improved project efficiency through the use of technology that ultimately helps us reduce costs and reduce our impact on the environment.
Our Estimators are responsible for the preparation of all project estimates and corresponding documentation in a timely and efficient manner. 
Duties include: Review various tender sites and identify those civil works and earthworks tenders that have been released for pricing.Drawing upon technical knowledge and industry experience, prepare comprehensive costing schedules by referring to technical drawings, scoping documents, client contracts and company resources.Use a variety of software packages for undertaking accurate costings. Prepare and submit tender documentation to clients and undertake negotiations within established parameters to win projects.Prepare comprehensive project handover notes and files.A positive "can do" attitude with high client servicing standards.Awareness of technical standards and regulatory requirements and the impact on project costs.Consideration of Safety, Quality and Environmental management principles on projects.  Requirements: The ability to interpret working drawings, scoping documents and tender contracts, and, translate these into accurate and thorough project estimates is essential.A strong background and experience (3 years) in civil works and earthworks projects and or estimation is a key requirement of the position.The ability to prioritize and manage high work volume and at times willing to work outside of normal business hours is expected and reflected in the remuneration package.A strong understanding of IT and various software packages such as the Microsoft suite is essential. Specific technical software such as VU360, Mudshark and Mudshark Trench is desirable.Proficient in English written and verbal skills is essential.Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to convey complex technical data in a simplistic and logical manner is highly sort after.
