This newly created role, Chief Financial Officer (CFO), is a key member of the Executive Team at the Geelong Football Club, responsible for directing, controlling, and administering all financial activities of the club. This includes overseeing the club's financial strategy, ensuring effective financial management, and maintaining long-term sustainability. The CFO will also play a crucial role in supporting the club's broader strategic direction, working closely with the CEO and executive team to drive growth, enhance profitability, and align financial planning with the club's overall objectives.
Operating at a strategic level, the CFO will need to demonstrate a proactive mindset, coupled with the ability to think critically and solve complex problems. Self-motivated with a strong desire for excellence, consistently striving to exceed expectations in a dynamic environment, the CFO will play a crucial role in fostering a positive team culture within the club, promoting collaboration, mutual support, and high levels of motivation across all departments.
Above all, the candidate will role model the club's guiding principles, demonstrating professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
About You Previous experience in a CFO or equivalent executive position; Formal tertiary qualifications and CA/CPA (or equivalent); Experience working in a fast changing environment would be an advantage; Experience in building credible, collaborative relationships with stakeholders, including Boards; Proven record of accomplishment of strategy delivery from a finance perspective and operational execution. This full-time role includes a requirement to work match days, including some interstate games, and other events throughout the year across all football programs.
