High profile and influential role that delivers genuine impact Drive longer term member value and ongoing financial sustainability Canberra based with Executive remuneration package Master Builders ACT, formed in 1925, is the largest and most respected industry association representing the building and construction industry in the ACT. We operate a diverse and unique organisation which includes membership association, including provision of general legal, workplace relations and safety advice; a large program of member events, communications, and advocacy; specialist construction and short course training organisation and MBA Legal, a specialist law firm supporting the building and construction industry.
The CEO of MBA ACT provides the strategic leadership and overall management of the organisation and all of its related entities including MBA Group Training, Southern Training Organisation, MBA Legal, Master Builders Fidelity Fund and the MBA Skills Centre Building Fund. This role also acts as the Chief Executive Officer of the Civil Contractors Federation of the ACT.
The incoming CEO will work collaboratively with the Board, members, and stakeholders to set a clear vision for the future of the organisation. With a focus on financial sustainability, member & employee engagement, growth, advocacy and value proposition, you will quickly develop a robust corporate strategy and operational plan with propensity for high impact on the industry. You will have strong and constructive working relationships with the Board and a variety of external stakeholders whilst managing the complex interests of the industry.
You are an experienced, professionally qualified Executive with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, strong political awareness yet someone who is apolitical in their operating manner. Industry knowledge will be an advantage, however strong commercial and financial pragmatism, sound comprehension of the economy and knowledge of the workings of government are key requirements. You must be capable of appropriately influencing and engaging in important public policy issues in private and under the media spotlight. A high level of intellectual and emotional intelligence, resilience and tenacity, and a naturally engaging, empathetic person is desired.
