Within the Data Function, an APS 6 Logistics Officer is accountable under broad direction to perform and achieve complex data management and risk analytics work within an integrated workforce. 
They are accountable to ensure they have knowledge of and compliance with legislative frameworks, government decision-making and Defence's mission and policy requirements. 
An APS 6 Logistics Officer will work independently with the opportunity for reasonable autonomy and accountability for the achievement of outcomes of their work. They will exercise both initiative and judgement in the interpretation of policy and in the application of practices and procedures. 
They will provide detailed data management and administration technical, professional and policy advice in relation to complex work and may contribute to strategic planning, program and project management and policy development. 
An APS 6 Logistics Officer will have a considerable level of stakeholder engagement and will liaise with stakeholders in relation to complex or sensitive issues. They will be required to identify, anticipate and respond to stakeholders' needs and expectations to achieve work unit and Defence outcomes. They will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development.
About our Team
The Directorate of Logistics Systems Sustainment, (DLSS) is located in Canberra and Melbourne, and is one of three directorates within Logistics Systems Branch.
The Directorate consists of a blended APS, ADF and contractor workforce, many with deep subject matter expertise and specialist skills. It is agile to meet the changing business demands of the organisation, including embracing ERP.
