About the role: The accountant is responsible for accurately recording all payroll related activity in the General Ledger, ensuring accounts are reconciled.
This role also works cross-functionally with various departments including payroll, workforce management, finance, human resources, compensation and benefits, as well as other operational departments in matters relating to payroll and wage analysis.
What is involved: Perform month and year end closing activities and payroll accruals (vacation, social securities, pension, wage tax etc.)Calculate inter department and intercompany payroll reclassesPrepare balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy of all payroll movements and accrualsLiaise with the human resources and compensation and benefit teams on policy changes, legal and regulatory requirements, to ensure business changes are reflected accuratelyPrepare annual wage budgets, monthly forecasts and variance analysisCalculation, forecasting and reconciliation of field level bonus payments, wage associates with store e-comm fulfilmentParticipate and prepare for internal and external auditsPrepare wage reporting to business partners on KPIs and financial resultsComplete payroll and wage analysis as required to provide insights to the businessComply with all internal control procedures and SOX requirement, identifying improvementsContinuous assessment of performance efficiency and profit improvement opportunitiesAct as strategic partner, who monitors and anticipates on changes that impact both the payroll and business needs and requirements.About you: Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business management, or equivalent combination of education and experienceMinimum three (3) years accounting or financial analysis experienceExperience and understanding of payroll and related accounting requirementsExperience in providing analysis on high volumes of dataAdvanced MS Excel skillsTeam player with service-oriented attitudeAnalytical thinker who understands processesPro-active, well organized and flexibleSound written and verbal communication skillsPeopleSoft experience is a plus.What's in it for you: A flexible, hybrid working environment.Excellent staff discounts on Foot Locker products – Nike, Adidas, ASICS and many more!Free on-site parkingAccess for you and your immediately family to our Employee Assistance ProgramFree access to Wellhub (Gympass)An inclusive and supportive team culture.To apply, please submit a brief cover letter outlining your strengths for the role, and an up-to-date copy of your resume, using the 'Apply' button below.
