We pay our respects to Elders both past and present, and value the contribution of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people within DEMIRS.DEMIRS' vision for ongoing reconciliation is to have a diverse and inclusive workforce that understands and respects Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories, cultures, and peoples and which is able to build strong relationships with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and communities.The roleThis position is based in Perth, with the possibility for the suitable candidate to work from our Bunbury or Collie offices.As the Aboriginal Engagement Coordinator - South West, you will plan and lead the activities of the South West Aboriginal engagement team to provide high-quality and professional services to stakeholders in your region.Coordinate and lead the team to ensure effective and meaningful engagement services are provided to the local community on behalf of the Aboriginal Engagement and Economic Development teams.Use community connections to continually drive high-quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.Contribute to ensuring consistency of work practices and procedures across the regional teams and support the development and appropriate implementation of the branch's community engagement policy direction, strategies, and plans.Identify opportunities to support existing programs and projects across the Department where an opportunity to empower Aboriginal people exists.Maintain stakeholder databases and ensure the accuracy of information captured in these.Benefits:Flexible working hours (with a standard 37.5 hour week)Flexible working arrangements (from home, the field, and office)20 days of annual leave per year15 days personal leave per year13 weeks long service leave every seven years14 weeks paid parental leave (after 12 months of service)Ability to purchase additional annual leaveOpportunities for professional development, acting, shadowing, and mentoringFormal training optionsStable work, job security, fair remuneration, and 11.5% superannuation contributionsCLOSING DATE: 4.00 pm on Monday, 25 November 2024 (WST).
