Operational Readiness Officer, Clerk Grade 5/6, Tamworth
Join our team in Tamworth in the New England Region and embark on your career journey with opportunities to travel to remote areas, all while experiencing breathtaking scenery the region has to offer. Use your operational and coordination skills and experience in preparing and supporting NSW SES Units, Headquarters and Incident Management Centres for operational activity. Work in a volunteer-based agency supporting communities of NSW. Full time ongoing role. Location: Tamworth. About the opportunity
The Operational Readiness Officer undertakes a variety of tasks with a focus on maintaining the readiness of Incident Control Centre (ICC) facilities and systems across the Zone. The role works closely with the Operational Commanders within the agency providing support to these roles.
This role will visit Units in its relevant Zone and have a close working relationship with its volunteers and Local/Unit Commanders. In this role, you will travel distances supporting volunteers in regional and remote locations.
This role requires participation in operational activity, including on-call rosters during operational activity.

About you
We want to hear from candidates who have experience in supporting operational activity and are motivated by working in a busy environment often in times of emergency response.
To be successful in this role you will:
Have experience in supporting the development and implementation of systems and practices to maintain readiness of operational facilities and systems. Be able to effectively coordinate the operational reporting requirements within the Zone both up and down the line of command, including to the State Operations Centre. Be able to provide advice and information to decision-makers on operational reporting requirements and related procedures. Be a team player who can work in an environment that can involve a diverse range of tasks and priorities, particularly during operational activity. Have strong communication skills and be able to deliver presentations and briefings to stakeholders (both internal and external). Represent the NSW SES to a high standard. Current Driver's Licence and willingness to travel throughout NSW is essential. What we can offer you
