The NWQICSS Youth Transitional Hub has an exciting opportunity for several Youth Support Officers to join our growing department. The Youth Support Officer will collaborate with young people and local community partners to deliver programs in alignment with the needs of the local community, including outreach work, educational programs, workshops and wellbeing programs.
Our Youth Officers empower and inspire our young visitors, providing them with a safe space to grow, learn and have their voice heard and create meaningful opportunities for underprivileged and disadvantaged youth. As part of The Youth Hub team, you'll be responsible for the care and safety of our young community and impact their physical, mental and social wellbeing for the better.
Responsibilities: Effective oral and written communication skills.Computer-literate and the ability to complete reports.Sound organisational and time management skills.Knowledge / Qualifications: Certificate level qualification in Child, Youth and Family Intervention or evidence in the course is preferred but not necessary.Sound understanding of the role of a Youth Support Officer.Willingness to participate in training for the role.Current Driver's License.Blue Card.Work Experience: Demonstrated experience as a Youth Support Officer or working with children and Young People preferred.Ability to plan and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines.Personal Qualifications / Attributes / Traits / Capabilities: Integrity, discretion and confidentiality of a high order.Punctual time management and ability to work under limited supervision.Friendly, respectful and amicable demeanour.Ability to remain calm when faced with difficulty.Being flexible in dealing with a variety of people and working environments within one organisation.Exercising sound judgement, initiative, confidentiality and sensitivity in the performance of work tasks.Application Process: Please contact North West Queensland Indigenous Catholic Social Services (NWQICSS) on , email or ask at NWQICSS Office, 17 Stanley Street, Mount Isa.
