Location:The Youth Health Worker has a varied role providing individual counselling, group work and community development activities for young people.
The Team: The Youth Health Service is a small multidisciplinary team committed to offering personalised support to young people 12-25 who are experiencing difficulty in coping due to social, physical or mental health issues. We believe in fostering an environment where young people can feel safe, supported and valued.
The Role: The team operates from a strength-based and trauma-informed perspective, and practice is centred around empowering a young person to overcome or manage the challenges they face by using and developing their existing internal resources.The Youth Health Worker has a varied role providing individual counselling, group work and community development activities for young people.The Youth Health team also works collaboratively with services within Hospitals North and NGOs to provide the best possible outcomes for young people.You will need: A commitment to valuing the client as the expert.Experience working with young people and/or a demonstrated ability to positively connect with young people.The drive to work independently but also be a respectful contributor to the team.Note: Please refer to the Statement of Duties for all the selection criteria of this position to address in your application.
Details of appointment: Permanent part time, day worker position, working up to 38 hours per fortnight, commencing as soon as possible. Notwithstanding hours to be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Salary: $73,834 to $111,364 per annum (Pro-rata). Our Employer 11.5% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.

Successful applicants will be required to meet the essential criteria:
Satisfactory completion of an approved allied health professional tertiary qualification/program of study and registered with the relevant National Board or in the case of self-regulated allied health professions with either full membership or eligible for membership with the relevant professional association.Current Working with Children Registration.Registration/licences that are essential requirements of this role must remain current and valid at all times whilst employed in this role.
