Youth Family & Community Resource OfficerDepartment of Youth Justice – Mount Isa QLD
Drivers' License: It is a mandatory requirement for the occupant of this position to hold an unrestricted "C" class driver's licence as officers are required to drive government vehicles as a part of their day-to-day work.Blue Card: This role provides support services to children and young people and therefore will require a valid Blue Card with the organisation.

Isa, travel within the region for site visits and to other regional offices may be required in this role.
This may include overnight stays.Referee: While not mandatory, one of the referees should be an Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander person, where possible, who can attest to the applicant's background, knowledge, skills and experience as they relate to the cultural capabilities.The Youth, Family and Community Resource Officer Key Responsibilities are: Deliver support and intervention services to young people subject to a youth justice intervention, their families, and communities in accordance with legislative, policy and procedural requirements.Implement culturally appropriate individualised case plans through designing and implementing intervention strategies, negotiating with service providers, and linking clients to the services/supports they require (including formal and informal services, government and non-government agencies).Participate productively as a member of a multi-disciplinary team involving a range of internal and external stakeholders and service providers to achieve quality service outcomes.Liaise and develop effective working relationships with relevant stakeholders including families, elders, other key community members, community agencies and Government departments.Undertake a range of record and information management tasks including maintenance of case records, preparation of reports, performance reporting and data entry to ensure casework and organisational accountability.Actively participate in training and development activities to develop and maintain an appropriate knowledge and skills base to ensure that service delivery is consistent with departmental priorities and objectives, service objectives, current trends and relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.Actively participate in and contribute to the good governance and objectives of the directorate and department.Applications to remain current for 12 months.
