An exciting new opportunity has become available with our client AGL.
We are currently seeking a Works Supervisor for an initial six months contract based at Bayswater Power Station in the Hunter Valley.
This is an identified position.

Applicants for this position must be: •    of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent •    Must identify as being Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Key purpose of this role: The Works Supervisor will support the team by coordinating work and employee activities on a day-to-day basis while providing leadership and advice to workers.
They will also help carry out planned, routine and scheduled tasks to meet site transition project objectives.
Key Responsibilities : •    Coordinate and supervise a team of employees, to deliver routine and scheduled tasks as per project guidelines and within timeframes.
•    Apply technical and practical skills to all aspects of work – Apply technical and practical skills according to qualifications in the planned, routine and scheduled tasks to meet objectives.
•    Problem solving to resolve issues as appropriate while ensuring issues are recorded and notified.
•    Ensure hand and trade tools used on site or in workshop areas are maintained.
•    Ensure work areas are maintained up to standard and conducting work in accordance with the Environmental Management System.
•    Actively contribute to the knowledge and skill development within the team, by sharing information and identifying areas for improvement.
•    Conduct safety checks and prepare Risk Assessments What you'll bring to the table •    Trade Certificate.
•    Demonstrated experience as a Tradesperson in a heavy industry or process environment.
•    Completion of a recognised leadership or related course of study relevant to the position (or willingness to undertake).
•    Ability to communicate effectively regarding technical matters and to deal with conflicting demands.
•    Proven safety record with a positive approach to workplace safety.
•    Ability to work in a team and independently.
•    Ability to understand and apply safety rules, instructions, policies and procedures.
•    Ability to train and coach apprentices or newly appointed Tradespersons.
•    IT Skills – ability to use MS Office products and an integrated IT System (SAP).
•    Flexible and adaptable approach, ability to adjust to changing work demands.
