We also provide resources, equipment and support to 128 members of Parliament to assist them in fulfilling their roles.Through our commitment to diversity and equality, we are actively engaged in promoting and maintaining a safe and inclusive work environment where all employees are respected, valued and supported.Our employees are the key to our success and bring new and innovative responses to issues and challenges we face in our work in the delivery of quality services to support the work of the Parliament.About the roleThis is a 24-month fixed term opportunity.As the Workplace Relations Specialist, in collaboration with a great team, you will be responsible for the provision of solution focused, practical, and timely employee and industrial relations advice utilising your thorough understanding of legislation, common law, and industrial relations principles.This position requires a professional who can develop sound stakeholder relationships and who can deliver fair and defensible solutions to identify and mitigate risk whilst ensuring compliance with relevant workplace laws and industrial instruments.About youYou possess intelligence, adaptability, an open mind, and pragmatism in engaging with our diverse stakeholders.Your practical expertise in interpreting industrial regulations and skills in translating complex IR details into accessible concepts for all stakeholders are noteworthy. To be successful in this position, you will ideally bring the following:Demonstrated Workplace and Employee Relations experience.Demonstrated knowledge of current industrial relations issued including end-to-end enterprise bargaining and the interpretation of industrial instruments.Ability to confidently provide advice on employee relations and legislative/policy matters.Experience in the management of workplace grievances, complaints and investigations.Excellent influencing, negotiation, coaching and stakeholder management skills.Demonstrate resilience and can autonomously and efficiently manage priorities including managing risk, coaching line managers and managing stakeholders.Most importantly, you uphold integrity and recognise the importance of maintaining confidentiality and discretion at all times.From the moment you join us, you will be doing meaningful work that will help to create a sustainable Parliament for current and future generations.We strive for an inclusive and diverse workplace that is reflective of the Victorian community that we serve.
