Reporting Structure Reporting to the Chief People and Culture Officer, you'll be at the forefront of driving best practice safety across our Australian and New Zealand sites. You'll ensure we stick to our policies and procedures while promoting a culture where safety is second nature to everyone. You will lead the Return-to-Work and Workers Compensation process alongside proactively creating policy and procedure.
Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities Regularly monitoring and reporting on how well we are sticking to WHS & RTW processes. Lead the way in managing WHS policies, especially regarding workers compensation. Act as the Return-to-Work Coordinator and be the primary contact for all RTW matters. Oversee our WHS management system, ensuring it meets all the latest standards. Assist and help drive leaders and employees in the development and implementation of the WHS Strategic and Operations Plan. Be the go-to person for WHS and regulatory queries across our stores, warehouses, and support sites. Help develop and roll out our WHS strategic and operational plans. Keep all our safety management manuals, registers, and systems up to date. Carry out detailed investigations into any accidents, incidents, or near misses, and offer practical solutions. Identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective control measures. Design, create and deliver training materials on health and safety practices across Australia and NZ. Upskill key stakeholders on all WHS and RTW matters. Analyze WHS data, spot trends, and offer clear recommendations. Work with Insurers - Negotiate premiums to get the best coverage at the right price. Requirements A Cert IV WHS (or equivalent) and Return-to-work accreditation. A solid background in WHS, particularly in high-risk settings; experience in retail or warehousing is a plus, and any exposure to airport environments will really set you apart. Recent hands-on experience in Return to Work and Workers Compensation is essential. A thorough understanding of WHS laws, regulations, and standards across AU and NZ with expertise in policy creation and review. Familiarity with WHS management systems and a high level of confidence with Microsoft Office, including TEAMS, SharePoint, OneDrive. An aptitude for finding solutions to tricky problems. Clear and effective communication, both written and spoken, to internal and external stakeholders. Willingness to travel to different sites across Australia and New Zealand as needed.
