Work Health Safety Manager

Our client, a leading healthcare organisation, is seeking an experienced Work Health and Safety (WHS) Manager to join their team in Sydney.

About the role:

As the WHS Manager, you will lead the WHS team in delivering comprehensive work health and safety risk services across the organisation. You will play a crucial role in fostering a strong safety-first culture and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.

Key responsibilities: Lead and manage the WHS team in delivering services including pre-employment screening, manual handling, injury management, workers compensation, workplace audits, staff health, safety education, and wellbeing (EAP) Partner with leadership to develop and implement the organisation's WHS strategy Develop and oversee a safety framework incorporating essential safety systems and processes Provide expert advice on complex safety issues to minimise harm and ensure compliance Lead the development, application, and review of WHS policies and procedures Ensure compliance with SafeWork NSW reporting requirements Oversee workplace safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments Manage workers compensation claims and return to work programs Develop and deliver priority WHS education and wellbeing programs Manage relationships with workers compensation providers and EAP services Requirements: Tertiary qualifications in Work Health and Safety or related field Extensive experience in WHS management, preferably in healthcare or a similar complex environment Strong knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and best practices Excellent leadership and team management skills Proven ability to develop and implement WHS strategies and frameworks Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities Our client offers the opportunity to make a significant impact on workplace safety in a dynamic healthcare environment.
