In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. You will work closely with management and staff to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.Key ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement safety programs with a focus on employee well-being and psychosocial safety in the workplace.Develop and implement health and safety policies and procedures.Effectively oversee return-to-work processes and employee injury management.Conduct regular risk assessments, inspections, and ensure across all offsite locations that potential hazards are identified and corrective actions are proactively addressed.Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions.Provide training and support to employees on health and safety practices.Ensure legislative compliance with local, state, and federal health and safety regulations.Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on health and safety activities.Collaborate with management to develop and implement safety improvement initiatives.About YouRelevant Certificate IV or above qualifications in Workplace Health and Safety and Injury management, or a related field.Proven experience of minimum 3-5 years in a WHS role, preferably within the disability and/or youth services sectors.Current and in-depth knowledge of WHS legislation, standards, and best practices.Experience in conducting risk assessments and incident investigations.Excellent communication and relationship-building skills and ability to train staff at different levels.Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.What We OfferAt MADEC, we believe in providing a rewarding work environment that values each individual's contribution.
