About the Team Operations Our Operations team works with a diverse customer base to support several nationally significant supply chains.
With management responsibility spanning across five states, our 8,500km rail network is used to transport bulk products, passenger and general freight, including steel and a vast array of consumer items such as groceries, electrical goods and other items for both import and export markets.
The Operations teams work within several complex and challenging environments, including some of the busiest rail corridors in Australia to deliver safe, efficient and sustainable service delivery outcomes for its customers, stakeholders and the community.
About the Opportunity Lead and supervise a multi-skilled delivery works group to deliver work allocated by the Area Manager to appropriate standards to ensure the operational integrity and efficiency of a designated location or section within a defined Rail Corridor.
Ensure mandatory systematic inspection, examination, condition monitoring and functional checks on the rail infrastructure are conducted and take appropriate action to ensure rail infrastructure is in a safe operational condition, including recording, reporting and prioritisation of defective infrastructure to maintain a valid defect recording system and work management system.
What do we want from you?
Detailed knowledge of a single rail infrastructure discipline stream (track, structures or signalling) Certification in infrastructure inspection, assessment and repair; Ability to undertake asset condition forecasting and reporting Ability to supervise/manage multi-disciplined teams for effective performance; Knowledge of or an awareness of Work, Health and Safety principles and relevant rail safety legislation; Motor Vehicle Drivers Licence Class C; Medical fitness to Category 1 Rail Safety Worker; Sound computer skills; Well-developed problem resolution skills; and Well-developed interpersonal, oral and written communication skills; Desirable Selection Criteria: Worksite Protection Level 3 (PO3); Hand signalling Level 1 and 2; Drivers Licence Class MR; Drivers Licence Class HR What will you get from us?
