The RoleAs the WHSQ Manager, you will report to the General Manager and be part of the key leadership team.
You will provide hands-on safety leadership enabling operational managers to manage their workforces and provide and maintain a safe, effective, and quality-driven workplace. Hazard identification, safety leadership, risk assessments & management, implementation of new initiatives & controls and follow-up reporting.Develop and maintain effective internal audit programs and conduct regular audits against relevant ISO Standards (i.e., ISO 9001, ISO 45001, and ISO 14001).Update and maintain the company's internal management systems and safety registers, including recording all information relating to safety, environment, and quality processes.Incident investigations, incident management processes, and reporting; prepare job procedures / SWMS as required.Complete and submit worker's compensation claim documentation, including coordination of return to work and rehabilitation plans.Develop, implement, and maintain company policies and procedures, ensuring updates are being appropriately communicated to management, staff, and external stakeholders in accordance with all legislative requirements and industry best practice standards.Manage and provide support to contractors on site, including organizing inductions.You Tertiary qualification in Workplace Health & Safety (minimum Cert IV - WHS).Minimum ten years' experience in WHS, Quality, Training, and Management Systems.Proven experience in a WHSQ management role within heavy industry.Knowledge and understanding of the Work Health & Safety Act, relevant standards, and national legislations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of engaging with all levels of staff and management.Familiarity with WHSQ management software and tools for incident tracking and reporting.This role suits an experienced WHS professional looking to join a well-established reputable company, seeking a long-term stable career opportunity.
