The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in developing and maintaining Work Health, Safety, and Quality Management Systems. Strong skills in compliance with industry standards and legislation, along with a solid understanding of WHS protocols, are essential for success in this role.If you are passionate about enhancing safety and quality in a dynamic work environment and are eager to contribute to our innovative team, we encourage you to apply and help drive our commitment to excellence and sustainability.Mission and Priority Objectives:Working with the Australian Operations Team, the objective of the WHS & Quality Officer is to develop, maintain and ensure implementation of the company's Work Health, Safety, and Quality Management System and associated accreditations. The role is to be a key resource to the Company on both industry best practice and legislative requirements in this field.It should be noted that this role requires candidates the availability for some domestic travel to various sites within Australia.Roles and ResponsibilitiesGeneral WHS and Quality expectations include:Develop and maintain best practice systems tailored to the Operations Team, ensuring Legislative requirements are met and/or exceeded.Roll out and maintain compliance with the GPG Integrated Management System (IMS), this will include implementation of relevant policies and procedures, aligned with ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015 and ISO 45001:2018.Monitor and update WHS management systems.Coordinate an effective internal and external audit program, managing the closure and verification of associated audit actions and any necessary corrective action plans.Undertake internal reviews into current processes, providing recommendations on improvement opportunities.Develop and maintain relevant staff training, information registers; reporting on skilled resources, identify skills shortages and appropriate training providers.Support the business in implementing systems and assist in the management of industry and community issues/trends, highlighting key areas of concern within the renewable generation industry.Perform risk assessments to determine the potential for accidents or injuries in specific activities or work settings and develop strategies/controls to prevent them from occurring.Attend, and collaborate with, Availability and Performance Committee, WHS Committees, or any other WHS & Quality committees in the future.Collate and present monthly reports to the Operations team on WHS performance.Maintain knowledge of current legislation, industry standards and best practice.Ensure from a WHS perspective that the GPG operations group understand company expectations and systems.Incident Management: Manage WHS and Operational incident response and investigations across the Operations team to ensure the best care to all employees and interested parties, protect the interests of GPG and share lessons learnt.Participate in ICAM/Taproot incident investigations for all incidents classified as reportable and as required by Head of Operations.Establish Root Cause controls and suitable preventative measures based on the highest level of Hierarchy of Controls.In consultation with management, report and liaise with Regulatory Authorities.Facilitate incident close out meetings for all incidents, accidents and zero tolerances reported.Support Human Resources with the return-to-work process for injured workers.Create and distribute flash reports on updates, news, incidents, accidents or learning.Create and distribute relevant information from industry that is applicable to GPG works.Report incidents/accidents to relevant senior personnel within GPG as per the incident management plan and the agreed timeframes.Ensure all incidents and accidents are captured in Prosafety or management systems used by the company.Technical Document Writing:Gather information from subject-matter experts to develop and write technical documentation such as manuals, procedures, work instructions, SOPs, and flow charts.Gain a deep understanding of newly developed assets and translate complex information into simple, polished, engaging content.Write user-friendly content that meets the target audience's needs.Stakeholder Relationship: Proactively build relationships that position GPG for future projects/developments. Create a direct line to the contractor HSE team(s) to provide support/assistance/assurance in the event site issues arise.Engage with GPG Project WHS representatives as required to manage and be aware of issues with handovers, interface management and any specific WHS concerns that will or can be transitioned to operations.Attend contractor meetings regarding WHS including but not limited to contractor forums, industry forums, safety audits, risk workshops, pre-operational meetings and incident investigations.Engage or request attendance of contractor WHS representatives to be involved in GPG safety audits, risk workshops, pre-commencement meetings and incident investigations.Qualifications:Minimum Cert 4 in Work Health and Safety.3-5 years' experience in a related industry, in a health and safety role.Incident investigation in a recognised methodology (ICAM/Taproot etc).White card / or ability to obtain a white card.Auditor qualifications are highly desirable.Key Skills and Attributes:A passion for continual improvement of Health and Safety performance.Excellent oral and written communication skills.A high level of critical thinking and problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal skills.A high level of computer skills.A high level of organisational skills.Ability to lead and motivate on-site teams in Health and Safety.
