About the Role HTS Constructions have a new opportunity for a suitably qualified and adaptable WHS Advisor to join our Nauru project team.
This is a Fly-In-Fly-Out (FIFO) role on a 3:3 rotation with flights available out of Brisbane.
As a WHS Advisor, you will be tasked with leading the development, communication, implementation, monitoring and review of the WHS Management system at the project level. We are looking for an advisor with excellent interpersonal skills, and a genuine interest in championing a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities Drive the implementation and continuous improvement of WHS Management Systems to elevate safety performance across the project.Shape and support People and Culture HSE strategies, ensuring a proactive approach to safety on-site.Act as the main liaison for client HSE representatives, managing requests and fostering positive client relationships.Lead engaging safety meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions to promote a proactive safety culture.Perform site inspections, audits, and risk assessments, identifying and addressing potential hazards swiftly.Investigate incidents, oversee corrective actions, and ensure compliance with WHS regulations and industry standards.Develop and coordinate emergency response plans, ensuring the team is prepared for any scenario.Track and report HSE metrics, analysing trends to drive continuous improvement.Support corporate WHS activities, contributing to company-wide safety initiatives.Assist the site team and administration staff with freight requests on an adhoc basis. Experience and Qualifications The ideal candidate, will have the following qualifications and experience:
Minimum Certificate IV in WHS – A Diploma in WHS would be advantageous. Minimum 3 years' experience working in a HSE role within civil, SMP, commercial, or construction or mining operations.Excellent knowledge of relevant WHS legislation, regulations and industry standardsStrong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and mitigate safety risksExcellent communication skills, ability to build rapport with diverse workgroups, and cultural awareness. Ability to work as part of a team in a challenging, and remote FIFO construction environmentFlexible and adaptable approach to accommodate changing priorities and demandsIn addition to these qualities, it would be beneficial to have:
