About the role The Wellness & Lifestyle Therapist will be based at our Head Office located in Glenside but will work across all Southern Cross Care Residential Homes in South Australia and will be responsible for ensuring the delivery of high quality wellness and lifestyle services to residents.
Key responsibilities of this role include but are not limited to:
Delivering wellness and lifestyle services and activities that empower and support residents to engage in meaningful activities that align with SCC's Better for life modelEmpowering and enabling residents to maximise and improve their health, wellness and quality of lifeDeveloping strategies and processes that enable residents to take informed risks to live the life they chooseContributing to early intervention programs to develop recovery programs that address lifestyle and wellness declineListening to residents to ascertain that they are satisfied with the wellness services and support available to themAbout you We are looking for people who will be the difference in the lives of our residents and clients.
The successful candidate will have the following skills and experience:
Current Driver's LicenceCertificate IV in Leisure and Lifestyle or equivalentDemonstrated experience in the delivery and supporting the implementation of wellness and lifestyle programs for older peoplePrevious experience working in an aged care environment or passion for working with older people, good communication, organisation and relationship building skillsSound problem solving skills particularly when assessing balancing supporting resident's desire for independence and self determination to make their own choices against potential risks and duty of careGood understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behavioursProficient computer and keyboard skills and the ability to use Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, Gmail etc.) and various in-house databasesAbout us Southern Cross Care is one of Australia's leading charitable aged care, health and retirement living service providers.
