Staying true to our values ensures that we consistently deliver positive outcomes for all South Australians.About the jobAs a Water Modelling Specialist, you will lead the development and use of integrated water management modelling tools to support strategies across South Australia.
With expertise in water resources modelling, analysis, and planning, you will work closely with the water resources team to inform collaborative decision-making with internal and external partners.
Your role includes analysing water availability at a regional and system level, evaluating new water options, and guiding the development of models in areas without existing systems.About the PersonWe are looking for a candidate who can lead the assessment of water system capacity and future needs through advanced water resources modelling.
You will develop and implement a comprehensive modelling work program, ensuring consistent methodologies and assumptions, and collaborate with various teams.
You'll model supply and demand scenarios to guide strategic decisions, support stakeholder consultations, and contribute to regional water resilience frameworks using innovative techniques to ensure ongoing water security.
Additionally, you'll build strong relationships with stakeholders and prepare essential documentation for decision-making.About Science and StrategyThe Science and Strategy group employs scientific approaches to address present and upcoming challenges.
They execute a strategy driven by customer preferences to elevate the SA Water brand and position us for future success.In addition, your responsibilities will include:Fostering trust with our people, customers and community by providing expert advice and service that ensure we effectively communicate and engage audiences with our business strategy and its delivery across South Australia, every day.You will:Lead water resources modelling and assessment to support integrated water management strategies for South Australia.Develop new system models in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders, ensuring consistency in methodologies.Model current and future supply-demand scenarios to inform option development and ensure alignment with overall strategies.Build strong relationships with stakeholders, driving collaboration and preparing technical outputs for decision-making.Contribute to water security planning, fostering a collaborative team environment, ensuring safety, and maintaining SA Water's values.Your success in this role will come from:Relevant qualifications in science, engineering, or related fields, with knowledge of technical, regulatory, and policy requirements.Strong understanding of South Australia's water sector, resource management, and strategic planning processes.Expertise in water resources modelling, analysis, and planning, with experience resolving complex issues across systems and regions.Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks.Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence, build relationships, and drive collaborative outcomes.Ability to provide strategic and policy recommendations based on data analysis and research - desirable.Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.To apply, click 'Apply'.
